O September at last! Pumpkin scented candles, leaves changing color, and baked goodies from the oven. And best of all,it means Halloween is getting closer.
This is the time of year to get song lists together, whether it be harvest tunes,Halloween songs, and last but not least,it's time to start working on Holiday tunes while you have plenty of time to get them down! As the weather cools, folks will be more prone to indoor gatherings. So this is also the time to start thinking of perhaps getting a ukulele group together to meet every so often. And,if you're a multi instrumentalist, you could also organize a "jam night" in which people can bring an acoustic instrument of their choice and play along with everybody. Other things to think about: Next year is the 100th anniversary of the Roaring 20's! There's been an undercurrent of predictions of how not only will the songs of this era make a big comeback, but so will the fashions and the slang. So you might want to start getting some songbooks to work with, hit the vintage clothes shops, and become a swanky performer.
