I had spied this on eBay about a week ago as a BIN at an amazingly low price. I was looking for a mandolin I could take along with me to different venues without worrying about it. This particular listing caught my eye for two reasons: it's a brand that usually produces a ho hum response and it was also professionally set up before being listed for sale. For under $70, (Including shipping) I now had a set up inexpensive mandolin.
Now I had heard good things about Rogue mandos in the past- I was always suspicious of them due to the low price tag. It arrived yesterday and I must say this one has the best set up of all the mandolins I own except for the Ovation my Dad gifted me many years ago. Rogues are amazingly solid built- it's one of the heavier mandos I own. And the tone, while it needs some "opening up" ie playing,is actually decent. The tuner buttons are actually metal. So this for those looking to get into mandolin or if,like me,they were looking for a good "busking buddy".
