I was really amazed at the cards that came up- all water/emotion.....how more synchronistic can the Universe get for the Full Moon/Eclipse? Let's get to it!
The 10 of Water literally jumped out of the deck as I was shuffling and asking what messages do we all need this week? Nothing nicer than having a smiling Buddha greet you as the 1st card. The message here is Well being is your natural state. Everything I need flows to me effortlessly now,and I greet people with a smile and share the joy I feel with others. You celebrate yourself and your accomplishments at this time, and feel gratitude for having come this far in your journey. Remember the vibes you radiate during this full moon time may be magnified,so be sure to put out the energy/feelings you want to receive! Good fortune, serenity, and peace can prevail now.
The 6 of Water follows- are you spending time reliving your past? Enjoy the good memories but remember not to linger- for the best is yet to come. If nothing else, draw upon the good feelings of the past to create a wonderful present moment. In fact you can co create an even more wonderful present and future! Be mindful not to fall into depression or gloom over moments you cannot go back to. Remember that we all distort our past to a degree just as the reflection of the girl is the card is. Keep yourself light, and be the Light. For some, you may bump into or reconnect with someone from an earlier time. This can also be a sign of some of you reigniting a creative skill you have let go to the back burner for awhile. It could be art, music, writing, etc. If you're wondering if dipping back into your creative pool is a good idea, take this card as one big YES! Take the first step, and let the Universe do the rest. You will be led step by precious step.
The final card is he 9 of Water- often known as the "wish" card. Wishes fulfilled, achievement of a project. Happiness and joy. Satisfaction in one or more areas of life-the kind that make you feel wonderful and thankful. Sweet harvest,a job well done, the attitude of gratitude.
Yes,I know this reading is early but felt the need to put it out there now. For the week of Jan 14,2019.
Alrighty! We're heading into the week with clear vision in the air as shown by he Owl card. Intuition is likely to be in super mode this week,as well as one's "spidey sense" of picking up vibes, energies, and so on. This is a week where what's not being said, what's going on inbetween the lines, what's felt inbetween the spaces is to be paid attention to. This is the foundation for this week. You may also want to be sure to surround yourself with white light and/or ask your Angels to shield you this week as the energies may be felt stronger than normal,so asking your guides/Angels/Totems for a buffer may be the thing
to do here.
The Electric Eel blesses us with the signal that now is the time to explore that creative idea you've had-the big one you've wanted to do seemingly forever....and this also includes career changes.
(Laid off Federal workers, this is for you-if you were asking for a sign that it's time to hang up your old job and move on.....well,the lay off is it!)
Get into and do that thing you do. Bring your dreams and ideas to life. (as long as they''re positive and uplift, inspire, etc) Epiphanies can be experienced now, that sudden "ah-ha!" of insight as to why things have been going the way they have been going,or what's been blocking you from doing what truly lights you up. The Universe is wanting to shower those who are willing to now blaze their own trail with love, abundance, blessings, and synchronicities, but you have to be the one to take that first step, even tho you can't see the next step. Trust yourself, trust the Universe, and move forward now.
The Swan gives the signal that it's time to dive into your new life you've wanted for so long. While you may believe you know what's best for you,set the inner critic/ego mind aside and with your awareness plunge into the deep seated wisdom of your own Soul and listen to your inner muse, who is all too often silenced by "practicality" "the way things are right now" and other blocks the ego mind throws at us to prevent us truly blossoming into who we're meant to be and what we're supposed to be doing. Don't judge by superficial appearances or jump to surface conclusions. Ponder your "why" in meditation, knowing that there is also a much deeper potential in loving connections, mutual understanding, and forgiveness, which often opens to floodgates to bigger, deeper, better things, even if it's in something already established such as a relationship or project, etc.
The energy forecast for this week begins with the Messenger of Fire, adorned with a crown of candles, she is ready to celebrate her inner "Feast of the waxing Light". Innovation and creativity are in the air, along with recognizing the inner Light and Fire of creativity that is within you. Realize that you are a Divine unstoppable Spirit, and don't let the naysayers or those who don't recognize your worth or your talents dampen your Inner Flame in any way this week. Create, stay true to what you love/value,be open to new adventures, new creations, and for the deepening or widening of what you already know. (such as learning new drawing or musical techniques) Trust your gut, your intuition.
Next is the Page of Air,heralding the possibility of new ideas not yet tried or proven, the winds of curiosity in inquisitiveness blow in,inviting you to take a new unexplored idea or interest. Be open to realizing what you don't know, and be open to learn new things,to try a new creative activity or meditation technique. Newness is in the air!
The 3rd card is Love. Remember we are truly all One,and One with the Universe. See the Unity in all things, and this card asks us to get away from the "either or" and "or else". Love is all around us,uplifting us if we allow it. There is High Magic in using the energy of Love to manifest and set intentions. Spirit loves us as we are and for who we are right now, which is the true meaning of unconditional love. This is a call to for self care and love for ourselves as we are in this moment. Not for if we do this or that, but in the true present of the now. And yes, this can herald the possible beginning of a romance or the refreshing/deepening of an established one.
As the Messenger of Air is looking towards the other two cards, recognizing your Inner Flame and shining your light as bright as you can are key to opening the treasures of the other two cards.
Have a wonderful creative and loving week!
I've been fascinated with Chinese culture and good luck charms ever since I was a little girl when I'd go with my parents to Chinatown. The shops, always abounding in red and gold, would have such a feeling of opulence and mystery among the smiling Buddhas, dragons, and tassels. I would ask my parents to buy me incense cones,a gold rubber dragon,or a buddha incense burner. There just seemed to be such a serenity and a sense of security when I'd look at these objects. I'm not Asian,either-but have always been drawn to the culture. In later years, I was studying feng shui but quit as my Dad,who I lived with, was a hoarder. And clutter is a no no in feng shui....which the home we lived in was loaded with.
It's been well over a year since his passing, and I decided from the get go to start getting back into it...slowly. Well,in preparation for the upcoming Chinese New Year,I started getting feng shui enhancers for my home-the traditional symbols used to help keep away lower energies and magnify higher ones.
I'm with a rather conservative but helpful neighbor at one of the local Lowes, and my mission is a new front porch light,(old one is broken from age) a 6 rod wind chime,( traditionally used to squelch lower energies) and some lucky bamboo plants First,I find a small wind chime with 6 rods for under $10. We head into the outdoor part of the gardening section, where what to my wandering eyes do appear?
Two lucky bamboo plants in matching pots in the 50% off section. They look a little tired out,but for the most part healthy. I'm curious as to why these are out here discounted when there's a ton of the same potted plants inside for twice the price. I place both pots in my cart, find a porch light I like, and after seeing some wonderful Christmas light displays,I arrive home and settle in.
I take the plants in the kitchen and trim off the leaves that are turning yellow or are dead, water them, welcome them into my home. I decide to see how many plants there are per pot. I assumed there'd be three.
There were four. That hit me as pretty odd, cause all I could remember is that four is usually avoided in Feng Shui, but I could be mistaken.I think to myself. I feel unusually tired by this time, and call it a night a little earlier than normal. But then,I did a lot of walking and shopping, think nothing of it and go to bed.
Thru the night the number of the plants per pot is still bugging me....tho altogether they'd be eight, which is a money number.
So the next morning I get up unusually early, feeling fine. After my morning coffee and daily reading for myself,I come in and look up bamboo plants & what the numbers mean. To my shock,I read something like this:
In Feng Shui numerology, four is as low energy as you can get. In this system,it's considered a bad luck number loaded to the gills with very bad ju ju. To give anyone an arrangement of four lucky bamboo plants in one pot is like wishing them every bit of bad luck and disaster that could possibly fall on them. Well Shit! No wonder they were in the discount rack!
I marveled at the synchronicity of having picked up the wind chimes first,in addition to wearing a protective/good fortune bracelet I had received in the mail that day. Not to mention I always ask for Angelic protection and guidance before I begin my day each morning. So I took matters into my own hands. I removed the plants from each planter into a decent sized plastic container. I then separated all the plants from one another, declaring the arrangement and energies of four now be undone. Somehow,I feel like an energetic tension was unplugged, and I sensed even the plants were relieved.
I then replant one pot with five plants, and the other with three plants. Adding red ribbon to each pot, with a group of three old Chinese "good luck" coins on them. Intention is everything, and as I re-potted the plants I set the intentions of blessings arriving and wishes being fulfilled. (5 and 3 are great numbers to have lucky bamboo planted in groupings of)
Another reason I wanted to share this story is in case this ever happens to you,or a friend receives a group of four in one pot like I did. While I'm not superstitious,I do respect the energies of the numbers attributed in the Feng Shui system when I'm working with feng shui symbols such as the bamboo plants. So- if you ever wind up buying an "unlucky" arrangement of "lucky" plants, simply separate them, and place them in separate pots in groupings of 2,3,1,5,8, but never 4!
A most joyous, healthy, safe, and successful 2019 to you all!
And thanking you for the support. I can see the visits to this blog has increased a lot since I've been doing this!
We start the week with the Sun card- what better way to enter a New Year than with the supportive, radiant light of the Sun? The Light of Abundance shines down and touches us with an abundance in creative ideas, projects off to a great start- this can also indicate projects and ideas bearing fruit. Relationships can blossom in all their beauty. This is a good time to start anything you've been wanting to do but held yourself back on-like learning to sing or anything artistic, taking up yoga or meditation, sewing, etc. You may find yourself reigniting past hobbies and/or interests as well. This can mean abundance in all it's forms. Be sure to share your abundance tho- whether it be by giving fresh baked bread to a friend, teaching someone how to play an instrument,or just by sharing your know how in something. Shine your light brightly!
10 of fire shows a woman burning away what she no longer wants in her life- an interesting use of the Sun card! This includes de cluttering (not by literal burning-but by donating, selling or tossing out material stuff you no longer need or want) and of course, this also reminds us to clear out unwanted attitudes, memories, opinions of ourselves that aren't true (like "I can't sing well") as well as the negative untruths our "inner mean girl" or "inner critic" tells us in our heads. Consider this a call to do a pre spring clean! This opens the doors for the new and wonderful to enter your life and space. Toss out clothing and blankets that have gotten just plain old and "ratty".
The 4 of earth is the final card for the week- a call to remember that you are exactly where you're meant to be in this moment and the Divine has you in it's arms. Even if you're going thru a testing period or things aren't exactly as you'd like them to be in this present moment, rest assured there is a reason for the event or situation happening. things don't happen to you- they really happen for you to pave the way to a better job, relationship, career,or in making your dreams come true. Having been there done that many times in my life,I don't say this glibly. What has at times felt like the most horrible of situations in my life journey turned out to be,in retrospect, the Divine taking me on a detour to a much better version of what I was wanting. Abundance in unlimited amounts is there for all of us,however we must truly believe that and be smart about it at the same time. In other words, believing in unlimited prosperity & abundance is fine as long as you respect it by not blowing thru it carelessly. Respect money by treating it with a respect you'd give a best buddy-making sure you're not putting too much on that friend and knowing by doing this,it'll always be by your side.
Like the deck I'm using? You can get one for yourself by clicking the link below!
I've decided to get back to weekly readings and this week I'm using a deck called "the Good Tarot" by Colette Baron-Reid. It's a beautiful, uplifting deck and what better way to get started for Christmas Eve?
The first card, which is the "main energy reference point of the reading is called "Temptation". An apple, with a heart shaped bite humorously is center spot on the card. The energies this festive, delicious time of year are a feast for those of us wanting things, whether it be another cookie, another candy,or going nuts over all the sales that are everywhere right now. So- while this week is certainly to be enjoyed and celebrated,be sure to ask yourself if you're going overboard a bit in different areas. Do you need to draw back those reindeer reins just a little? Remember moderation in all things doesn't mean you can't have a great time. Appreciate all that you have right now instead of getting "More" just because it's discounted. This also applies to relationships. Are you over-giving? Are you giving gifts, time, love,in reciprocal balance? And don't forget to lovingly but firmly maintain your boundries.Holidays are no excuse for you to put up with being stepped on or people imposing on you.
And for the empaths and highly sensitive: remember just because someone at a gathering may be spewing soot and bah humbug vibrations,do not let yourself get pulled into those lower energies. Do what you works for you in shielding yourself from lower energies and energy "vampires" before leaving your house,or before they arrive at yours. And pull back entirely if necessary for your well being.....and yes, that includes canceling a visit or other engagement. Dread has no place in this space. If you don't want to be around toxic people, then don't. You don't need an excuse,"no I'm not coming" is a complete sentence.
The 2nd card is Love-Oneness. An interesting card to follow the first. Remember that we are all reflections of one another to some degree-even when dealing with the Scrooges and Grinches out there. We've all had holiday seasons where we just weren't into it due to personal loss, chaos, injury,or illness. (believe me I've been there!) Magic abounds when we see the connectedness and unity of all things. So explore new options coming into your life, explore possibilities, and remember you can give and receive abundant love. Us lightworkers need to work on receiving a lot,and I am one of those. Just be discerning and listen to your intuition and Angels where other people are concerned. And yes, this can mean the beginning of a romance. Just be sure the person isn't a lump of coal in beautiful wrapping and bows!
The 3rd card is the 4 of Fire. A time of celebration! (you can't make this stuff up!) Santa arrives and the sugarplum fairy is waving her magic wand over you. For some,a new creative phase is now beginning or on the horizon. Be sure to tend to that flame! Harmony in gatherings, cozy get togethers, Make magic with those you know. Take the magic of the season to a brighter level. Truly embrace the goodness and joy-full ness of this week as much as you possibly can. Fill you inner cup with the positivity and the glee in the air. And for some, this can mean an engagement,a wedding,a making a serious commitment in love.
I know. It's sounds somewhat "Oh Broth--------er!" to the unaware. However,I'm learning a lot right now about why my past in the romance department was such a dud. And I thought I'd share that with you here,in case you're unattached for yet another Yule and wondering why. Well, it could be the way you treat yourself. And I'm not talking about what you've purchased lately. Nope. I'm talking about self care, because how you treat yourself is energetically what you're gonna get (or not) on a romantic level. (And this applies to friendships and family, too!)
Example 1: If you had a beloved right now, would you let them sleep on the sheets you're going to sleep on tonight? You last treated yourself to clean sheets when????
Example 2: If you had a beloved, would you make them use those super old and faded washcloths and bath towels you're using? Hmmmm??
Example 3: If you had a beloved, would you expect them to live in rooms full of disorganized clutter, expecting them to simply turn a blind eye to it and say "sure I want to share a life with you! When do I move in?"
Now more than likely you're thinking Oh no! I'd never make them do with that! And yet, we can impose those very same things on ourselves, and think nothing of it. Perhaps we were conditioned to do with less by our parents or others we were close to in growing up. I know I was. Towels were used until they were literally ragged and falling apart. It wasn't due to a lack of money, however. It was due to my parents having a poverty mindset.
It wasn't till my Dad had been gone a year I started realizing I was unconsciously doing what my parents did. I woke up to the fact the old wash cloths my Dad had gotten for a "bargain" years ago were rough, and worn out. I ordered new ones for myself that are soft and nice to look at. These are ones I would want my "beloved" to use.
In the distant past,I would go for long periods of time before changing my bed- I would certainly never let my beloved sleep on sheets that had been on the bed for more than a week or so. I started changing my bedding frequently, and it much improved the quality of my sleep, and helped put a stop to sinus problems I was having.
The secret is this: if you don't treat yourself like you're someone special, than neither is anyone else. Energetically when we give ourselves less than respectful treatment,or 2nd rate treatment,we project that energy out into the Universe and it responds on a matching frequency- which usually manifests thru people giving you 2nd rate treatment,or no treatment at all.....just passing you by as tho you don't exist.
Now to be clear,to give self care isn't to be found in blowing your budget and shopping in expensive stores with the rationale you're treating yourself well. It's in doing the things that other people will never know or notice- like treating yourself to a foot soak at home after being on your feet all day, or making sure there's fresh coffee in the morning when you get up,or making time to play ukulele every day. You get the picture!
Everytime you go to do something, ask yourself "would I be pleased to have my beloved _______?" And the blank can be from anything like "eating at my cluttered dining room table" to however it is that you treat yourself,or the conditions you surround yourself in. If you wouldn't want it for them, you don't allow it for yourself, either. Treat yourself as tho you were "your beloved" and you'll be sending a wonderful energetic signal out to the Universe to respond to in kind!
One of the problems I've had in maintaining this blog is the fact I've made the mistake of having many blogs for different aspects of myself- and a large part of that is the fact I'm a hereditary Empath/Intuitive. And I've tried for years to keep that out of this blog for fear people would think I'm a little out there cause I work with oracle cards,Angels, the lunar cycles,Quantum Physics, and have read a bunch of Hay House books. In other words, for years,I've been a Lightworker and perhaps let it out a bit on these pages and then quickly deleted it for fear of "offending" a reader or two who's not woo woo.
However.this is the year in which I decided to step out and let my light shine- every facet of it. So,I decided to dedicate a page to my woo woo side,as I also realized I can't be the only ukulele player out there into all this.
For those of you hoping to see guitalele stuff, have no fear,I'll be having that on the home page from time to time. I'm wanting to keep the number of pages on this page the same,ie no more additional pages as it get too difficult to keep up on. And I may cut back a page or two to keep the quality in rather than the quantity.
What can you expect to see here? Well, hopefully a weekly cosmic energy forecast- telling what the energies may be like week to week and how to best work with those. I'll be announcing Full Moon and New Moon dates and times. Working with crystals to enhance your energies when playing music. chakras and music. Seasonal date changes. All sorts of stuff.
And- no offense meant to those not into all this, but I figure for those that aren't,they can just not look at this page the same way folks ignore the horoscope section in the daily paper. No biggie.
Little did I know until very recently that the guitalele has another name- the kiku (pronounced k-eye-kyoo) ukulele. And furthermore,I discovered it's the modernization of the quint guitar.
As I stated before, this unique member of the ukulele family can be played in a few ways- as a regular ukulele, focusing mainly on the upper four strings, as a regular ukulele with two additional lower bass strings,or,as a 6 string ukulele. I mix and match all of the above.....which I discovered when the used kiku uke I won in an online auction arrived missing the bottom string.
Presently,I'm working on chord charts and a string note guide for players just starting out. Tho I love my collection of 4 string ukes, this one is the one I feel most at home on,possibly due to guitar being my first instrument. You can play of course, with fingers or a pick. For a pick, I prefer the "Famous" brand of leather pick. It is just stiff enough to do the job,and soft enough that it hasn't left any hairline scratches on my nylon strung guitars or kiku ukulele.
I'm also working on the possiblility of providing video lessons on this wonderful variation of uke.
If you have any questions about playing this particular type of ukulele, please contact me and ask!

For the current Lunar Chinese Year,it's suggested you place a 6 rod windchime in your West Sector to suppress disharmonious energies. For The Year of The Earth Boar,(Feb.5,2019) it's recommended by Feng Shui experts to move the 6 rod windchime to your east sector to suppress dis-harmonious energies. I have one for you at a sweet price-just click the Amazon link below! If you get a 5 rod one, that will also work.
