My apologies to anyone who filled out the old subscription form and never received anything. I was completely unaware that it no longer worked! I've now installed a new app on the Stay In Touch page that should work with no problem. If you did send an email address in the contact form, bear in mind that won't subscribe you to updates- you'll need to go to the Stay In Touch page and enter your email address there. Sorry for the inconvenience of all this. Receiving several emails this morning with only an email address in them gave me the clue my readers were trying to subscribe. I'll be monitering the new app to be sure it's working correctly, and contact me via the contact page if you think it's not.

One thing I like to get into the mind of my students is to always, always end your playing time on a good note. This can be particularly uplifting if you're developing a new skill on the uke,and you're having a bit of a time with it. Never leave your uke feeling that you played lousy and/or you're not getting anywhere. To do this is amazingly simple. Make the last thing you play on your flea for the day something that you play well. Doesn't matter what it is....it could be a song, new to you chords, scales, etc. Whatever it is,always allow a few moments of spare time in your playing routine to do it. This sets the fact in your mind that while you What you play with ease now was once a challenge, right? So honor your past acievements after you've worked with whatever new skill you're tending to now. Setting Your Ukulele Goals For 2017 Seeing as today is Winter Solstice (Yes,I'm celebrating the return of longer days & the "birth" of the Sun) I thought this would be a wonderful time to get you all thinking about what you'd like to accomplish with your ukulele in the coming year. Ponder this today.....and keep it to two, three things at the very most.
Write down what your uke dreams are. Keep it reasonably attainable if you're a busy individual or have a lot of time demands on your plate. Is there a new style or technique you'd like to learn? Did you want to become a busker? Get another ukulele? (that's one that's probably going on everybody's list!) Ponder what you've written down for a few days just to be sure it's what you truly want to do,not what you "should" do. Have a little ceremony if you like on New Year's Eve to set your list in motion. It can be as simple as lighting a candle to signify the start and commitment to your new dreams. *** I'd like to hear comments from those of you reading this as to what you'd like to read about in the upcoming year! *** |
